Franklin Manor

Here are some of the pictures of the house we are planning on building.  I included the floorplans and some views with furniture to give you an idea of the finished product.

This is going to be an exciting time, but also a little stressful.  Between working full time and all of the other stresses of life, it is going to be tough getting things done on time.  We'll just have to find the will and time to get them done.  Here's praying that the feasibility study goes well and we are able to build in a timely manner.

Let The Adventure Begin

After deliberating and debating the different floor plans, we chose the winning design.  We loved the curb appeal, the open floor plan and it will be a great home for our family.  So the first step is out of the way.  Later we will get into the options and upgrades that we want to add.  The next step was to find an available parcel of land.

We looked in a lot of different communities.  The criteria we were considering were:
1. school district
2. relation to friends and family
3. ease of access to freeways and amenities

After looking at different parcels in Steilacoom, Lakewood, Edgewood, and Puyallup; we made the decision to put an offer on 1.8 acres in South Hill.  The location is great, outside of the fact that it is on a busy road, the schools are great, we are not that far from friends and family, and highway 512 is just down the road on 94th.

We walked the property and looked at the history of it as well.  After contemplating how much to offer, we made an offer.  We were expecting a counter offer or something from the seller.  They accepted the offer as-is.  We put contingencies on the offer.  So as long as the parcel passes feasibility and our financing goes through, we bought ourselves a nice piece of land.

Now that the process is underway, it's time to get to work on the studies, permits, and other fun stuff to come.  Buckle up, it will be a fun ride.
